The value, commitment and professional expertise of our personnel are all fundamental elements in our work ethic, and are indispensable to achieve our company’s objectives. That is why we focus on building relationships based on loyalty, trust and mutual respect, and we are committed to avoiding any form of discrimination, respecting the dignity of each individual and offering equal opportunities.
With some 1,930 staff, 1,410 of whom based in Sardinia, the Saras Group has long been a leading industrial player both in Sardinia and at national level. Following takeover of the former Versalis petrochemical plant (now Sarlux North Plant), we have strengthened our role as one of the island’s main employers. A study by the Industrial Observatory of Sardinia has found that the Sarroch industrial site generates about 5,000 payslips, Including downstream businesses.
The plant is operational on a 24/7 basis, with three work shifts, for 365 days a year. Each day, some 1500 internal workers and maintenance contractors’ personnel enter our gates.
Sarlux personnel operate plant and equipment to receive the raw materials, process the crude oil and generate electricity, handle and store fluids and dispatch the finished products. They also manage policies for health, occupational safety and environmental protection. They coordinate the ancillary activities carried out by contractors.
The site is a complex system, run on the basis of a fine-tuned set of operating procedures and instructions, using state-of-the-art machinery and equipment. Safety is the guiding principle of all our actions. This is why we choose the best competences and professional skills, design our staffing chart in line with our objectives and select organisational solutions that maximise process effectiveness and efficiency and promote teamwork.
