Six students from classes 3A, 3B, 1A, and 2B at the Sarroch Comprehensive Institute secondary school enjoyed a special experience thanks to Junior Reporter, an initiative created in collaboration between Saras and Cagliari Calcio. The project, launched last year, offers students the opportunity to explore the world of sports and journalism, allowing them to connect with key players in the media industry.

This year, the students had the opportunity to meet the Rossoblu coach, Davide Nicola, and participate in the pre-match press conference. Their questions ranged from their childhood dreams and then their professional dreams (both as a player and as a coach) to the emotions experienced in the locker room, and the value of daily commitment in achieving one’s goals.

Never think that there are shortcuts in life”, emphasized the coach, answering the students’ questions. “Whether it’s sports or any other field, everything comes through work and sacrifice. It’s essential to have dreams and goals to achieve: there will be obstacles and not everything will be predictable, but the important thing is to give it your all to reach your goal. Personally, I’ve experienced many emotions throughout my career. I started with great enthusiasm and have always had that pragmatism passed down to me from my family. In Cagliari, I experienced strong emotions from day one, when I saw the empty stadium and imagined how much energy it would give us over the course of the season. Every day we work towards a goal: we face confrontations, growth, doubts, and mistakes, from which no one is immune. I always tell my players to be ambitious and serious about their work, to know their identity, who they are, and what they want, to become stronger and more aware of what they do”, Davide Nicola told Junior Reporter 2025.

Now, the young students are ready to put what they’ve learned into practice: soon, they will write their article for Domus Rossoblù, the official magazine of Cagliari Calcio, distributed digitally and in print in the stadium stands before each match. The best article will be published in the final issue of the season, offering the young players another opportunity to see their talent recognized.

Thanks to Junior Reporter, these young students have discovered that talking about sports isn’t just a writing exercise, but a window into emotions, sacrifice, and passion.

We’re proud of these activities and are convinced that constant dialogue with the local community fosters the social, economic, and cultural development of the community.
