Sports and Culture: Two Events for Younger Children
Saras, again this year during the month of June, has chosen to combine two initiatives dedicated to young people, promoting sports, inclusion, and cultural development in the area.
Sport at School 2024–2025 – Sarroch
The final day of the “Sport at School” project, promoted by the Municipality of Sarroch and now in its second edition, took place at the Porto Columbu sports facility. Over 300 students from the primary and secondary schools of Sarroch and Villa San Pietro took part in the sports they learned throughout the year, thanks to collaboration with numerous local associations.
Saras’ support significantly contributed to the success of the initiative, transforming the event into an occasion of celebration, participation, and sportsmanship, further enhanced by the presence of Pully, the official mascot of Cagliari Calcio.
“The project has had a tangible impact on memberships in local sports clubs”, emphasized Sarroch City Councilor Matteo Argiolas.
Children’s Games – Villa San Pietro
The Children’s Games, now in their 24th year, once again represented a special moment of sharing, inclusion, and discovery for hundreds of children from the municipalities of Villa San Pietro, Sarroch, Pula, Domus de Maria, and Capoterra.
Saras renewed its commitment to supporting the initiative, contributing to the organization of a day dedicated to play, school cooperation, and the promotion of local cultures.
The focus on multilingualism was particularly appreciated: the young participants wore t-shirts with writing in three languages, a symbol of the event’s inclusiveness.
“Knowledge of minority languages is a fundamental value for growth and identity”, stated Salvatore Sarigu, Councilor for Culture for the Municipality of Villa San Pietro.
