Our document \u2018Policy for the Prevention of Major Accidents and the Protection of Workers\u2019 Health and Safety and the Environment\u2019<\/strong> <\/em>sets out and confirms our company’s commitment to these objectives.

HEALTH, SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENT<\/h3>\n

Sarlux applies the HSE system (Health, Safety and Environment)<\/a>: this is our main tool for preventing major accidents, promoting occupational health and safety and protecting the environment.
\n<\/strong><\/p>\n

[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”10px”][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner][vc_column_text]The HSE system (Health, Safety and Environment) <\/strong>was set up through a complex process that was launched in 2001 and led in 2004 to the certification of the Sarlux Environmental Management System (EMS)<\/strong>, under international standard ISO 14001<\/strong>.
\nThe certification was confirmed in subsequent years and also extended to the part of Impianti Nord as a result of the acquisition of the Versalis company, with annual verification by the certification body Lloyd’s Register Quality Assurance (LRQA Italy).<\/p>\n

Following a similar path to that undertaken for the EMS, as early as December 2007, Sarlux has adopted the OHSAS 18001 certification for the Safety Management System (SGS) for the protection of the health and safety of workers<\/strong> who, in order to cope in a manner structured and timely as the legislation evolves, in 2020 it was replaced by the new ISO 45001 standard.
\nEach year, the Lloyd’s Register Quality Assurance certification body (LRQA Italy) verifies the company’s compliance with the requirements of the certifications.
\nAn important milestone for Sarlux which once again underlines the commitment and sensitivity of the company on the issue of health and safety in the workplace.<\/strong>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column_inner][\/vc_row_inner][vc_column_text css=””]<\/p>\n

In recent years, the two systems, for the environment and for H&S have been integrated into a single HS&E management system, and performance measurement and planned improvement targets have been introduced.

SAFETY CULTURE<\/h3>\n

Sarlux promotes the culture of safety among all its people, through training, information and monitoring of the effectiveness of the activities carried out.<\/h5>\n

Programmes and practices<\/strong><\/h5>\n

Sarlux guarantees the safety of people and of the industrial site by two main types of action: maintaining plants and equipment in the accordance with international BAT standard (Best Available Technologies) and adopting safety policies in compliance with two key legislative acts: the Decree on occupational safety (no. 81\/08) and the Decree on sites at risk of major accidents (no. 334\/99).<\/strong><\/p>\n

These standards, which are strictly applied by Sarlux, include, among other things, the drawing up of safety, internal and external emergency and training plans, the establishment of fire-fighting teams and the use of personal protective equipment.<\/p>\n

The Saras Group adopts additional controls at the Sarlux refinery, exceeding legal requirements.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The company implements a number of other activities to strengthen worker safety. The most significant include:<\/p>\n
