{"id":524704,"date":"2017-10-25T11:20:47","date_gmt":"2017-10-25T11:20:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.sarlux.saras.it\/wp-sarlux\/?p=524704"},"modified":"2018-07-02T12:46:02","modified_gmt":"2018-07-02T12:46:02","slug":"sea-rescue-firefighting-anti-pollution-and-security-exercise-in-the-sea-area-around-the-sarlux-piers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.sarlux.saras.it\/en\/sea-rescue-firefighting-anti-pollution-and-security-exercise-in-the-sea-area-around-the-sarlux-piers\/","title":{"rendered":"Sea rescue, firefighting, anti-pollution and security exercise in the sea area around the Sarlux piers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-523704 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/www.sarlux.saras.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/esercitazione-sarlux.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1000\" height=\"600\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">The operation, called <strong>\u2018Seasubsarex\u2019,<\/strong>\u00a0was carried out by Sarlux Operations &amp; Shipping staff<br \/>\nin coordination with the 13th Secondary Sea Rescue Centre (Mrsc) of Cagliari.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">The exercise was also supported by the motor vessels of the Coast Guard, Fire-fighters,<br \/>\nCarabinieri and Financial Police, the Port\u2019s chemical officer, staff of the 118 (emergency) medical service and the Red Cross,<br \/>\ntechnical and nautical services (tugs, Sarroch port pilots and mooring workers)<br \/>\nand the anti-pollution vessel of the Castalia firm,\u00a0made available by the Ministry for the Environment.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">On request of the Maritime Authorities, all the actions for the different security levels set out in the <strong>company\u2019s internal plan<br \/>\n<\/strong>for the southern and northern plants were carried out.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">The exercise started with simulation of an explosion on the left side of a vessel flying the flag of Singapore,<br \/>\nmoored at Pier 1 of the Refinery.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">From there, a (fake) fire and subsequent (fake) spillage into the sea of a large quantity of diesel,<br \/>\nincluding the injury to some personnel and sea casualties.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>This exercise made it possible to test the response times and the quality of deployment<br \/>\nof equipment and resources in an emergency. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-523702 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/www.sarlux.saras.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/esercitazione-sarlux_2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1000\" height=\"600\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">The system for\u00a0<strong>protection of the marine environment and the security<br \/>\n<\/strong>of personnel operating in the Sarlux marine terminals at Sarroch is guaranteed by <strong>continuous,<br \/>\nround the clock presence of men and equipment <\/strong>ready to respond to all emergencies.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">This activity is part of a general, extremely strict policy for the <strong>preventive screening\u00a0of the ships<br \/>\n<\/strong>seeking to moor\u00a0at the Sarroch piers: even before it became a legal requirement,<br \/>\nthe Group introduced a series of severe rules applying to all vessels.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">First and foremost is <strong>the requirement for a double keel<\/strong> for the transportation of crude, fuel oils, petrol, kerosene and diesel.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Once the ships have moored at the south or north marine terminals, they are boarded by inspectors appointed by Sarlux<br \/>\nwhose task is to verify that operations take place in full safety, also as regards environmental protection.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-523703 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/www.sarlux.saras.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/esercitazione-sarlux_3.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1000\" height=\"600\" \/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The operation, called \u2018Seasubsarex\u2019,\u00a0was carried out by Sarlux Operations &amp; Shipping staff in coordination with the 13th Secondary Sea Rescue Centre (Mrsc) of Cagliari.
