The study by European House \u2013 Ambrosetti has highlighted the positive impact of the Saras Group and the Sarlux refinery on the development of Sardinia and the national economy.<\/strong><\/h4>\n

[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]On November 21st, the conference \u2018Evolving to remain at the top of the game<\/strong>\u2019, organized by Saras in collaboration with The European House – Ambrosetti (TEH-A), was held at the Convento San Giuseppe in Cagliari. The event, attended by representatives of the local institutions, by many of the Group\u2019s industrial and commercial partners and by local and national media offered a fruitful and constructive forum for discussion.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1\/2″][vc_single_image image=”529834″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][\/vc_column][vc_column width=”1\/2″][vc_column_text]Saras Chairman Massimo Moratti<\/strong> welcomed the participants and traced the history of the Group, which couples a constant drive for transformation with deep local roots in Sardinia. Mr Moratti described his recipe for maintaining market leadership<\/strong>, which includes a combination of resilience and enthusiasm, and stressed the importance of strengthening synergy between public authorities and businesses.[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Next came TEH-A CEO Valerio De Molli<\/strong>, who presented a policy study on Saras\u2019 contribution to the growth of the Region\u2019s economy.
\nThe analysis covered four key dimensions of value creation: \u00a0the contribution to economic capital, social capital, intellectual capital and environmental capital<\/strong>, according to a framework developed by Ambrosetti, already applied to many industrial and service corporations.
\nThe study revealed a number of significant positive impacts of Sarlux<\/strong> and the Saras Group on the development of Sardinia<\/strong> and the national economy.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row css=”.vc_custom_1543496442988{padding-top: 36px !important;}”][vc_column][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1560359830675{border-bottom-width: 1px !important;padding-bottom: 5px !important;border-bottom-color: #0056a6 !important;border-bottom-style: solid !important;}”]<\/p>\n

Resilience as a key to success<\/strong><\/h4>\n

[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row css=”.vc_custom_1543504811396{padding-top: 10px !important;}”][vc_column width=”1\/4″][\/vc_column][vc_column width=”1\/2″][vc_single_image image=”529762″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][\/vc_column][vc_column width=”1\/4″][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Then came a round table, hosted by Andrea Bignami of financial news channel Sky TG24, \u2018Resilience as a key to success<\/strong>\u2019, and with panellists Francesca Argiolas<\/strong> (Cantine Argiolas), Antonio Angelo Arru<\/strong> (President of Banco di Sardegna), Chiara Di Guardo<\/strong> (Deputy University Rector for Local Development and Innovation), Maria Grazia Piras<\/strong> (Industry Minister of the Sardinia Region) and Dario Scaffardi<\/strong> (CEO of the Saras Group).<\/p>\n

The round table offered a productive discussion forum bringing together practitioners from a range of sectors and contexts, on themes such as having a vision and being flexible as key requirements in order to adapt to the constantly changing economic and geopolitical environment<\/strong>.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row css=”.vc_custom_1543496886177{padding-top: 10px !important;}”][vc_column width=”1\/2″][vc_single_image image=”529870″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][\/vc_column][vc_column width=”1\/2″][vc_column_text]At the end of the round table, the Customs Agency presented Saras CEO Dario Scaffardi<\/strong> with a plaque of merit in recognition of the company\u2019s full compliance with the law throughout its history.<\/p>\n

The closing remarks were given by Francesco Pigliaru<\/strong>, President of the Sardinia Region.<\/p>\n

Asked to comment on the event, Dario Scaffardi said:
\n“Saras is one of the very few independent companies operating successfully in a highly globalised and competitive sector such as refining<\/em>. To secure our business\u2019 medium and long-term viability, and to continue to generate value and employment, we must remain true to our goal, which has always been to be among the best operators in the world.
\nTo achieve this aim, we must constantly strive to improve our efficiency, also by leveraging on new technologies and innovation.
