The Saras Group <\/strong>supports, by financing a scholarship, the SAFE masters course in \u2018Energy Resource Management\u2019<\/strong>, which covers integrated energy resource management methods and continuing training.<\/p>\n

Sarlux\u2019s role in the energy industry\u2019s digital revolution<\/strong><\/span><\/h5>\n

Over the years, the Sarlux<\/strong> refinery has adopted a single HSE<\/strong> (Health, Safety and Environment) management system<\/strong>. The Energy Team handles the refinery\u2019s energy management<\/strong> while other sectors of the refinery work on the constant improvement of energy performance<\/strong> (Operations, Technology) and on maintaining the plants\u2019 efficiency<\/strong> (Assets).<\/p>\n

For this reason, it is essential to rely on professionals fully able to develop and manage the Energy Management System<\/strong> (certified compliant with standard ISO 50001 in 2018).<\/p>\n

The same skills are also required at Sartec (Saras Ricerche e Tecnologie)<\/strong> another subsidiary of the Saras Group, where the ESCo<\/strong> team deals with the design and implementation of energy efficiency projects with a particular focus on the O&G sector.<\/p>\n

Project <\/strong>\u2018Digital by design: organisational solutions in the age of the digital revolution\u2019<\/strong><\/span><\/h5>\n

The digitisation of processes and the introduction of new smart systems (machine learning, big data tools and technologies and analytics) are the challenges that the Saras Group has decided to take up in the coming years, also by investing in training appropriate professionals<\/em><\/p>\n

The introduction of digital technologies into business processes also has disruptive impacts on organisational structures.<\/span><\/p>\n

The project makes a comparative analysis of digitization overhauls by other energy companies, especially in the Oil & Gas sector, analysing how and with what tools these companies have integrated digital solutions in their organisation, what changes they have made and what impacts they have generated in their processes, working methods, corporate culture and people management.<\/span><\/p>\n

By benchmarking those experiences, we have identified best practices<\/strong> in the energy sector,<\/strong> enabling Sarlux to manage the change brought about by digitisation of its processes and to move smoothly from the pilot project stage to a new organisation that thinks, speaks and operates naturally in digital mode.<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column width=”2\/3″][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_empty_space height=”8px”][vc_icon icon_fontawesome=”fa fa-cog” size=”sm” align=”center”][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n

#digitalsaras<\/strong><\/span><\/h5>\n

[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1\/2″][vc_column_text]The Sarlux refinery\u2019s digitisation<\/strong> programme known as #digitalSaras<\/strong> exploits the potential of the industrial revolution 4.0 and aims to bring about an<\/strong> evolution in technology and mindset<\/strong>: besides identifying numerous digital technologies focused on the ability to improve staff work and optimise production processes, the plan also involves various aspects of \u2018company life\u2019.<\/p>\n

The digitisation process involves 75 per cent of the plant\u2019s staff<\/strong>, with 2000 hours<\/strong> of face-to-face and online training<\/strong> on technologies<\/strong> and new tools, and 430 hours<\/strong> of training in change management.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The digitisation of refinery processes comprises four levels: Digital Units, Asset Management, Digital Foundations<\/strong> and Field Operations.<\/strong> Some technologies have already been deployed on an industrial scale, while others are under development.<\/p>\n

Field Operations<\/strong> (Digital checklist, Health Safety and Environment) is the area with the strongest impact on the organisational structure: tablets supplied to workers, digital devices connected to the control room for occupational safety and devices to improve the management of odour emissions.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column width=”1\/2″][vc_column_text]
