img_size=&#8221;full&#8221;][\/vc_column][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/2&#8243;][vc_single_image image=&#8221;542103&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221;][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Today, <strong>socially responsible companies<\/strong> have duty to identify and implement <strong>human capital development best practices<\/strong>and <strong>scenarios<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Our main goals in this area are to <strong>promote business awareness<\/strong> and <strong>design training activities for young people<\/strong>, to build a bridge between <strong>classroom learning and real-world experience<\/strong> and foster <strong>social development<\/strong> focused on the themes of work, sustainability and economic growth.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_empty_space height=&#8221;16px&#8221;][vc_column_text css=&#8221;.vc_custom_1582284095949{border-bottom-width: 1px !important;padding-bottom: 4px !important;border-bottom-color: #0056a6 !important;border-bottom-style: solid !important;}&#8221;]<\/p>\n<h5>WORKING WITH SCHOOLS AND UNIVERSITIES<\/h5>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=&#8221;8px&#8221;][vc_column_text]The Saras Group has partnered with all levels of education, from primary school to university.<\/p>\n<p>Since 1999, we have partnered with university under a Memorandum of Understanding, which is regularly renewed, covering the exchange of knowledge and skills to promote scientific and technological innovation and retain young talent on the island.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Group\u2019s contribution to the scientific community stems from the store of knowledge from its industrial operations<\/strong>: production processes, environmentally friendly methods and technologies, commercial and financial management within the global economy, themes related to Industry 4.0.<\/p>\n<p>The exchange of skills and know-how between the company and the university spans a range of activities: traineeships, scholarships and internships offering students practical experience to complete what they learned from lectures, seminars, thesis drafting and postgraduate courses; participating students are mostly from the Faculty of Engineering, but also from other fields of study.<\/p>\n<p>Together with several university departments, we organise <strong><em>hackathons<\/em><\/strong> (digital marathons) for undergraduates and recent graduates in several disciplines, to develop projects in the areas of: <strong>energy resource management<\/strong>, <strong>robotics<\/strong>, <strong>artificial intelligence<\/strong> and <strong>IoT<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Scholarships<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Group, joining a project by the Italian Association of Chemical Engineering (AIDIC), helps to offer scholarships to the best engineering graduates who decide to pursue their postgraduate studies in Sardinia.\u00a0<strong>This is a way to help to stem the \u2018brain drain\u2019 from Sardinia.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Through its workers\u2019 club (Cral), each year Saras awards <strong>scholarships to the children of employees<\/strong> who have distinguished themselves at school: in 2019 more than 50 students received the grant.[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=&#8221;8px&#8221;][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/2&#8243;][vc_single_image image=&#8221;542105&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221;][\/vc_column][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/2&#8243;][vc_single_image image=&#8221;542107&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221;][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_empty_space height=&#8221;8px&#8221;][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]<strong>Our programmes for secondary schools.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Group participates in business awareness and work experience schemes for high school students by the Ministry of Education.<\/p>\n<p>Between 2013 and 2019, <strong>more than 600 students<\/strong> visited the Sarlux industrial facility, and in the last 5 years <strong>more than 1000<\/strong> took part in <em>business simulation<\/em>, <em>soft skills<\/em> and <em>orientation seminars<\/em>; participants were able to get to know the world of work and, in particular, to observe the complex system of skills and technological innovation of a large industrial group. We have held a number of <strong>conferences<\/strong> and <strong>seminars<\/strong> on the topics of safety, the environment, production processes, ICTs and business organisation, and exploring the themes of <strong>Industry 4.0<\/strong> and <strong>innovation in the refining industry<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Many of our projects include highly motivating competitions, in which students can work on and experiment with ideas and technologies related to <strong>innovation or current topics such as sustainable mobility<\/strong>.<strong> \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In our programmes for primary schools, the main focus is on preventing early school leaving.[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=&#8221;8px&#8221;][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/2&#8243;][vc_single_image image=&#8221;542109&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221; el_class=&#8221;didascalia&#8221;][\/vc_column][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/2&#8243;][vc_single_image image=&#8221;542112&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221; el_class=&#8221;didascalia&#8221;][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]For over 20 years, the<strong> Saras Group has supported students<\/strong> at the Sarroch State Comprehensive School by purchasing school textbooks and tablets and by funding dedicated computer rooms, to <strong>support the education of people and help them to be prepared for the digital future that awaits them<\/strong>.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_icon icon_fontawesome=&#8221;fa fa-cog&#8221; size=&#8221;sm&#8221; align=&#8221;center&#8221;][vc_empty_space height=&#8221;16px&#8221;][vc_column_text]The Saras Group is one of the main European oil refining operators, and is also active in the electricity generation sector. Directly and through its subsidiaries, the Group sells and distributes petroleum products on national and international markets. In addition, the Group produces and sells electricity through its subsidiaries Sarlux Srl (IGCC plant) and Sardeolica Srl (wind farm).
