In a spirit of <strong>open and transparent dialogue with citizens, the authorities and stakeholders<\/strong>, the report provides detailed information on our industrial site\u2019s environmental performance.<\/p>\n<p>The environmental performance data recorded in 2018 confirms our commitment to <strong>continuous improvement<\/strong> in various areas, including protection of the environment and of workers\u2019 health and safety, as well as our engagement with all stakeholders, especially local ones.[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=&#8221;8px&#8221;][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/2&#8243;][vc_single_image image=&#8221;541193&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221;][vc_empty_space height=&#8221;8px&#8221;][\/vc_column][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/2&#8243;][vc_single_image image=&#8221;541195&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221;][vc_empty_space height=&#8221;8px&#8221;][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row css=&#8221;.vc_custom_1573824572027{background-color: #f7f7f7 !important;}&#8221;][vc_column][vc_column_text]The consolidation of our operations in line with <strong>sustainable development<\/strong> is confirmed by <strong>the major investment plan underway<\/strong> and by the <strong>constant pursuit of innovation, which is a hallmark of the Saras Group<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>In 2018, we brought to full scale the pilot projects launched in 2016-17 and continued implementing <strong>#digitalSaras<\/strong>, our <strong>digitalisation<\/strong> programme which deploys industry 4.0 in terms of both <strong>technology and mindset<\/strong>. In addition to implementing <strong>several digital technologies<\/strong> to <strong>improve staff work and optimise production processes<\/strong>, the plan also involves various aspects of \u2018company life\u2019.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The 2019-2022 business plan, includes \u20ac 830 million of investments to maintain our operational and technological leadership in the refining industry, while fully practising corporate social responsibility.<\/strong>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_icon icon_fontawesome=&#8221;fa fa-cog&#8221; size=&#8221;sm&#8221; align=&#8221;center&#8221;][vc_empty_space height=&#8221;16px&#8221;][vc_column_text]The Saras Group is one of the main European oil refining operators, and is also active in the electricity generation sector. Directly and through its subsidiaries, the Group sells and distributes petroleum products on national and international markets. In addition, the Group produces and sells electricity through its subsidiaries Sarlux Srl (IGCC plant) and Sardeolica Srl (wind farm).
