{"id":545860,"date":"2023-12-28T12:15:58","date_gmt":"2023-12-28T12:15:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.sarlux.saras.it\/sharing-knowledge-a-year-of-activities\/"},"modified":"2024-01-24T10:12:49","modified_gmt":"2024-01-24T10:12:49","slug":"sharing-knowledge-a-year-of-activities","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.sarlux.saras.it\/en\/sharing-knowledge-a-year-of-activities\/","title":{"rendered":"Sharing knowledge: a year of activities"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wpb-content-wrapper\"><p>[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Sharing <\/strong>our staff and managers\u2019 <strong>knowledge and skills<\/strong> &#8211; developed on a daily basis through the use of complex and innovative technologies that enable sustainable operations &#8211; <strong>is one of the commitments <\/strong>of the Saras Group, which we confirm each year by carrying out a number of <strong>educational projects aimed at students.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">From primary school to university, projects and experience are offered through seminars, lectures, workshops, study grants and company visits.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In 2023, we held several educational and information events with pupils and students at all levels of education, together with schools, universities, and institutions.<\/p>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_empty_space height=&#8221;16px&#8221;][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/2&#8243;][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For <strong>primary and secondary<\/strong> schools, to help fight <strong>early school leaving<\/strong>, we enriched the school library of the Comprehensive School at Sarroch with 200 books, and we donated textbooks to all <strong>middle school<\/strong> students.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For the primary school of Sarroch, we partnered with the municipality and local associations to organise the <strong>cultural event FILARCHAIOS<\/strong> on local archaeology and history. The event, held in the summer, saw the participation of 80 pupils.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The main initiatives for <strong>high school<\/strong> students included work experience projects and educational visits to the sites of the Sarlux refinery and the Sardeolica wind and solar power farms.<br \/>\nWe involved 10 high schools and more than 500 students in the 4th and 5th projects<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Work Experience in <em>Information and Communications Technology and Cyber Security<\/em>,<\/strong> lasting 15 hours, involved around 50 students from the Commercial High School Enrico Fermi of Thiesi and the High School for Surveyors Don Gavino Pes of Tempio.<\/li>\n<li><strong><em>Energy carriers, biofuels, carbon footprint reduction<\/em><\/strong>, a 5-hour workshop for the students of 10 classes from the Giua Vocational High School in Cagliari.<\/li>\n<li><strong><em>Gaining Knowledge to innovate<\/em><\/strong> was dedicated to university and high school students from the Department of Mechanical, Chemical and Materials Engineering of Cagliari University and from Vocational High Schools Asproni-Fermi, Buccari-Marconi, Dionigi Scano and Michele Giua.<\/li>\n<li><strong><em>Electricity,<\/em><\/strong> lasting 16 hours, in partnership with the ESO Transformer Consortium, involved around 50 students from four classes of the Atzeni High School in Capoterra.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_empty_space][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/2&#8243;][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Continuing a long-standing partnership with <strong>Cagliari University<\/strong>, in particular with the Industrial Engineering Department, we have organised student visits to our sites and seminars on specific course-related topics.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">With the aim of sharing knowledge and enhancing intellectual capital, we covered the topics of<strong> energy transition and sustainability, energy efficiency, carbon footprint reduction, refining and IGCC production processes, wind and photovoltaics, electrolysis and green hydrogen, occupational health and safety, ICTs and cybersecurity.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>All participating students showed strong interest and motivation<\/strong> to learn about these very current themes, in order to acquire knowledge and information to supplement and extend their Engineering.<\/li>\n<li>Sarlux: 7 lecturers and 40 PhD students of mechanical and management engineering from all over Italy for the PhD course <strong><em>On the GO<\/em><\/strong> organised by AIDI, the Italian Association of Professors in Industrial Systems Engineering.<\/li>\n<li>Sardeolica: 15 students of the Electric Power Plant course taught by Professor Emilio Ghiani, Department of Electrical Energy and Electronics.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Study Grants<\/strong><br \/>\nFor several years, the Group has been providing study grants to encourage young graduates of the three-year Chemical Engineering Degree course who intend to pursue a Master&#8217;s Degree at the University of Cagliari to stay in Sardinia.<br \/>\nIn partnership with the Italian Association of Chemical Engineering (AIDIC) and Ecotec, three study grants were awarded this year to the best-performing
