In July 2020 Sarlux, the Saras Group refinery, obtained renewal of its ISO 50001 certification, the standard for implementing and maintaining an Energy Management System (EMS), as revised in 2018.
The Sarlux refinery’s performance data, published in the 2020 Environmental Statement have been validated by Lloyd's Register Quality Assurance (LRQA Italy), which certified for 2019 too that the environmental data surveyed at the Sarlux site comply with the EMAS regulations.
Since the early 2000s, the Saras Group has certified the quality of its products under the ISO 9001 management system, and has promoted environmental protection and health and safety at work through dedicated investments and a solid group-wide framework of organisational and management policies, which form the cornerstones of its sustainable action and are certified under the best international standards.
A few days ago an Enel-Saras agreement was signed to design a project to supply green hydrogen to Sarlux. The project involves the use of an approximately 20 MW electrolyser powered exclusively by renewable energy.
